Golf simulator projector buying guide UK

Projector choice should start with your room geometry and impact-screen size—not with a list of projector specifications. Throw ratio and mounting position determine whether the image will actually fit.

Start with throw ratio

Measure the distance from the intended lens position to the screen and the image width you need. Short-throw models are often useful in simulator rooms because they reduce shadows and keep the projector away from the golfer.

Brightness and ambient light

A darker dedicated room needs less brightness than a multipurpose garage with lights on. Treat manufacturer lumen figures as one input and consider screen size and ambient light together.

Resolution and aspect ratio

1080p remains practical for many builds; higher resolutions can improve detail but increase cost. Match the projected aspect ratio to the usable screen area so you are not paying for pixels that fall outside the image.
